Graduates (1978)

Take a few minutes and fill out the graduates form by clicking on add your info and upload a current picture of yourself.  Your yearbook grad picture will be added from this end as many may not have access to their yearbooks.

It's been over thirty years and we've all changed and been busy with our lives. It would be great to know a little bit about you. You certainly can't look as bad as this guy from our old biology class!

Don't forget to update your profile every once in a while!

Comment: This event sure brings back memories.   The nice thing about the reunion is that our high school years were more than just being part of bricks and mortar.  Much has changed, and not just condos replacing the original school.  My wife (Sandra) and I have been married 19 years, and we have two teenage daughters.  They were born in Ottawa where we were living for a few years.  These days we are residing in Oakville, and are parishioners at St. Christopher's Church in Mississauga.   I won't be attending the reunion, but wish everyone a great evening!!

I am living in Midland, Ontario.  I moved here about 8 years ago and although I love visiting Toronto, I wouldn't go back.  I  work at two local hospitals in Midand and Penetanquishene.  My companions on the road of life are two Shih Tsu's named Rosie and Murphy.  They never fail to make me smile!  I have been lucky enough to keep in contact with quite a few 78 grads and look forward to seeing you all at the reunion.

Comment: Thanks to the semester system, I finished grade 13 in January 1978 and was long gone by the time of grad. After 2 years at Queens, I moved to BC in the fall of 1980. I eventually finished my BA and LLB at UBC and have been practicing law in Vancouver since 1989.

Best wishes to everyone in the class of 78!

The older boys are at University and Patrick will enter Grade 12 in September. No grandchildren but we have a ferocious feline (Tinsel) and a pesky pooch...Dodger the boxer. So looking forward to seeing you all!

2018 update . Feeling old, acting young, and ever evolving as a human ! Have two careers at present www.barkingmadbirdservices.com and killinjivemusic.com . Father of 2 and grandfather of one. In advance of this years reunion, I thought I would do a little homework ( a first for me) and scour the yearbook to see who I might run into at this years event. Surprisingly to me, I realized that although I attended school with everyone pictured in the yearbook, I estimate that I never had a class with half the people in our graduating year. 5 years together and never a class together, and most likeky never even met, mind blowing ! Hopefully I get a chance to rectify that at the reunion..... See you there

Comment: Hi everyone,

Hope to see you all in two weeks.
Life's been great. Married to Denise for over 18 yrs. Retired from TTC last year, now officially a pensioner, but still working with  Town of Oakville (part time...only 50 hrs per week)... need to send the twins (boy/ girl)
to the university of their choice. Three generations of TTC is enough!

Comment: Hello everyone! Great job Leslie! I'm looking very forward to this reunion. This is a once in a lifetime event. I have 2 wonderful daughters ages 11 & 15. I live in Etobicoke in the Markland Woods area. I also lived in Mississauga for several years, but I had a hard time living away from Apache Burger. This landmark restaurant continues to be a tremondous success. Recently while at Apache with my daughters I bumped into Lennox Lewis the famous boxer. He sure is one big guy. I miss the days of the Islington House where they served 25 cent draught beer or was that the Men's Room at the old Skyline Hotel?
See everyone in a few weeks!

ps-the photograph of my daughters & I were taken at the Spice Girls concert at the ACC this year. My ears are still ringing from all the screaming going on. It was definitely girl power that night.

Hi Everyone,

I sure wish I discovered this website sooner, that way I could have gone to some of those past events.  I guess thats what happens when you graduate in 1977.

After grade 12, I got into the sheet metal business, then landed a great job in production at Alcan Aluminum on Evans Avenue.  After two years at Alcan, I went back to school and took Survey Technology at Humber.  After that I began working for the City of Etobicoke, doing various jobs.  Always having a knack for numbers, I began taking accounting classes at night school.  After that I worked in the Trucking business for various companies for the next 20 years as a Rate Auditor.  After the last trucking company I worked for went out of business, EI sponsored me to go back to school.  After about 2 more years of college,  I've been working for the past 10 years with the Duff Peel Catholic school board.  I'm working mostly with essential  and Autistic students in high schools.  I'm also an ESL tutor on the side.  Finally I'm doing something in life, I really enjoy doing.

Oh, I was married from 1986-1999, but sadly it ended in divorce.  Fortuately, I have 2 great daughters, Brittany 21 and Chelsea 19.

After some time, I met a nice woman that I've been with for almost 6 years now.  Life is good.

I will try to add a more recent picture of myself.

Mark
