It's been over thirty years and we've all changed and been busy with our lives. It would be great to know a little bit about you. You certainly can't look as bad as this guy from our old biology class!

Don't forget to update your profile every once in a while!

Comment: Wow...has it been this long, because I still feel like I am 17. Unfortunately I was not able to renew many acquaintances at the last reunion as my wife was in the hospital, and I only stayed for a short while.

After Power I went to Ryerson for Electrical Engineering, then started a  30 career at Rogers Engineering,  producing engineering plans for new technology installations in their video, data and voice data centres. An avid movie fan, I also have my own business designing and calibrating home theatres, but I am mainly retired.

In my spare time you will find me either golfing or cruising around in my classic 1981 TransAm, which I personally restored. Each year I participate in The Bandit Run, which is a week-long recreation of 1976 The Smokey and The Bandit movie in the USA.  We have more fun than you legally should.

All is well. I’ve been married for the last 22 years to my lovely wife Colleen. We have three wonderful teenagers (19, 17, 14), who have managed to escape the grips of my genetic influence.  Been working in IT all along, the last 20 years consulting. In contrast to what would certainly be a horrific shock to every English teacher I ever had, I dabbled in writing by co-authoring two technology books on open source. Don’t bother looking for them on the NY Times best seller list. Living not far away in Lorne Park, Mississauga.

For the most part I seem to have survived the ravages of the evil hair dryer, and praying to the hair gods hasn’t hurt any. Really enjoyed my days at MPSJ. It’s really great to see all of the interesting and varied paths we’ve taken. Very much looking forward to seeing everyone.

Comment: I can't believe it's been 30 years!  It's amazing to read how everyone's lives have unfolded!
Life on PEI is good: peaceful and beautiful.  I am in my tenth year here...could no longer tolerate the pace of Toronto.  We have a wonderful panoramic view of the Northumberland Strait and Hillsborough Bay.  No children...however, six dogs and three cats...keep us busy.  Wish I could attend the festivities on the 6th but I'll be thinking of you all with fond memories!

I regretfully have none.  So I leave it to you to teach it to your kids.

Comment: I get a phone call at the last minute from my best friend Marc Hamel who I have know since grade 2.   We have been through a lot in the past 40+ years.  I have fond memories of Michael Power.  I was a quiet blonde haired kid who came to this big school for my last 3 years of high school.  I remember many of my teachers, Father Brown, who would always ask you to put the answer to the question on the board knowing you got it wrong.    I have lived in Peterborough for the past 15+ years, happily married after 25 yrs! and three kids, 1 out of the house, 1 almost there and a hormonal 15 year old that can hardly wait to move out.
Live is good!

Comment: I was only at MPSJ for the final three years of high scholl.  I will be surprised if more than a handful remember me (I only weighed 90 lbs in grade 11 and then only grew slightly over the next few years.).  I have great memories of getting my ass whipped wrestling in several different weight categories and getting my knuckles snapped by Father Brown.

I was lucky to have found a woman who would put up with me and have been married for 20 years to a beautiful woman, Patricia, and we are blessed with four wonderful children - Nicole 13, Luc and Natalie 8 and Matthew 6.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday.

Comment: Still "Mel" but more relaxed now - no longer watching clocks or worrying about the little things.  Raise funds for Children's Miracle Network & children's hospitals in Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia & NZ. Married with two great kids (Emily 20 and Michael 18) and a wonderful wife & partner (Sarah). Emily at University of Leeds & Mike in between school years. Still running into Dunny, Pinto, Matera, Battista and the gang. New "after" picture - you see  -  plastic surgery in Mexico does work (kidding!?!).  Had a blast this summer in Italy/Tuscany with many of the old gang - celebrating 50 years of life or 25 years of marriage (Dunnigan Pinto, Matera, Battista, Hartman).

Comment: Hmm...married a couple of decades,2 wonderful children, still playing hockey (only slower), still an awful golfer, coaching soccer 12 months a year, decent hold em poker player, still can't outdrink Smith or chew glass like Finley and am seriously considering fullbody plastic surgery like Elvis er Philips. Hope to make it - if not hoist a few for the old Islington Tavern! (Best study periods ever!) Ps I think I used the same blowdryer as Frank. We should sue!!!

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: Emergency Supply Teacher & Lunch Supervisor
Comment: I married in June of 1984 to a 1975 Michael Power graduate ( fellow grad Anne Hudson's older brother Jeff). We have 2 girls (Lindsay 28 and Lauren 32). I am proud to say that both our girls opted to do the Extended French program and are billingual. Hard to believe since Mr. Muccilli passed me in grade 10 with a 52% if I promised never to take french again!!! Poor Mrs. Wekerle had me after that.

Covid has our youngest back in school for another degree as graduating in spring 2020 left her with few job prospects. The oldest lives in Japan and has been teaching there for 8 years, loves it...and yes speaks Japanese as well now.

I've lived in Mississauga since getting married and have had a few careers over the past forty years including my own graphic design company. I discovered later in life I should have been a teacher:)

I always look forward to getting together with high school classmates and hearing about where life has taken them and reminicsing about the good old days. They truly were good!

Keep well and be happy :)

I decided to fill in the 'Dash" for those who are unable to attend the reunion.

I graduated as an R.N. in '81 and nursed for several years. It was a great part-time career when my eldest two children were growing up.

I always had a passion for homes and decorating and in the late 80's dabbled in the Real Estate world. Loved it!

I also love children - so I had another one and became a fulltime home maker for a few years.During those years I became actively involved in the school council & resident association and was elected Trustee for the Halton Catholic School Board.

Life changed directions for my family in the late 90's and I returned to the work force.

Desperately, I answered a random add in the local paper for a vague position helping Ontario physicians with their group & private insurance. I picked up the tools of the trade on the fly and have enjoyed over 10 years in the insurance industry.

That add in the paper brought me more than a new job - I found my best friend (male best friend - Julie remains my BFF). David and I re-partnered (that's code for Living in Sin) eight years ago. I acquired a stepson in the process. Craig (22) is off at university.

My eldest daughter (Tara) and my son Spencer (22) have established homes of their own.

When my youngest daughter Alex(17) heads off to university next year I will be able to focus my attention on my new passion - my granddaughter Siarra!
