Leslie; Congrats on a job very well done!! It never could have happened without your tireless efforts. We are all in your debt. What a pleasure to 'reconnect" with so many after such a long time. I wish everyone my very best on a very happy and prosperous future with the hope that that connections re-established won't be connections lost yet again. Cheers to all.

OMG!!  What fun.  It was such a great evening.  Leslie, you might be getting tired of hearing this but, we are forever indebted to you for your selfless efforts in putting this together.  Thank you.  To everyone,...it was great to see you again.   Unfortunately,  we did not talk to everyone we wanted to - too many, too little time.  So, we obviously need another one!Our very best wishes to you all.

Hello Everyone,It was truly memorable to see you all on saturday night, all the old friends, acquaintances, and even we who just shared some classes and the atmosphere of the school during those 5 golden years of our youth.  Thank you Leslie and Jeff for that great effort, and for this website, which allowed us to break the ice a bit after all of those years, and to prepare for the reunion. For me, the reunion was bittersweet in some ways, as I reminisce here in the middle of the night in a hotel in Milano.  After not hearing or contacting any of you for 30 years, except a handful, and most of those in the early 80s, it was great to see you, shake your hand, see your smile, hear about your life.  We had a chance to meet again, like we did at school once, but then we go our own ways again to face the challenges of life, and that's the sad part for me.  We're like ships who pass each other in the night in way, but I don't want to sound too morose.  It definitely was great seeing and chatting with many, even those I didn't have a chance to talk to.We should do this again sometime soon.  One day we hope to have that great runion in the sky with the Lord, though that still seems far off for many of us.  From my perspective as a doctor who sees death frequently, I know that it's not far off, a heartbeat away really.  But until then, as our teachers instructed us, may the Good Lord bless you and keep you, may he make these years of the second half of your life even more fruitful, satisfying, happy, joyful, and a blessing to others around you as you seek His will for your lives! If any of you are passing through Grande Prairie, Alberta, as you may be while on the highway to Alaska (and physics was phun too), please look me up by calling the hospital there or visiting.  Would there be a way of keeping a website going somehow? I'd like to donate to the Kevin Phillips hair fund for cancer research too Mark.A big hug to all, a big Michael Power St. Joe's cheer!  Thank you to all who came out for the reunion,Hugo Bertozzi780-532-1966

Leslie and Jeff;thank you for all the work you must of done, to get this together.I will always remember this time, as we were all  able to talk to people that we  have missed,  as life can get busy, as we all know.I couldn't believe all the people that were there, it was a large room, just full of great people, the old times, and laughter..I laughed most of the night, just about things that went on in our high school days, and even in grade school.I finally found out the real story of the barn thing, from Steve, and man I had a great laugh, about that one...Well, too all, thank you for coming and enjoying this event, that was available to us, because of Leslie. So, let's all keep the ball rolling, so to speak, and email each other to keep in comtact. There was a lot of  people to talk, to  but I think that we all got around, to say hello,  so to all, good luck in the future. One last think. Debbie G you are still a hot babe.....Live, love and laughKevin

Enjoyed the evening and did not get a chance to thank Leslie.  Way to put yourself out there.  Saw many people I have long wanted to reconnect with.  (Kinger, Randy, Kathy McG etc. etc.)Let's get something going for when Kevin Phillips donates his hair to cancer research.  I am in for $20.  We have lost too many classmates already.

Also looking forward to seeing you all tonight!  I met with Joe Muccilli, Wally Bonchar at Sherway Gardens yesterday.  Lots of fun and memories.  Wally asked me if that pig dissection was the highlight of the Grade 11 biology course, and I had to say yes!  Some students couldn't stomach this though.  Now I attend autopsies and can say I had my start in Mr. Bonchar's class!I hope to see lots of old friends and acquaintances tonight, so please come on out!  God Bless,Hugo

I'm really looking forward to re-connecting with everyone to-night.I've been married for the last 17 years to my lovely wife, Anne, and we have two wonderful children - a 14 year old boy and an 11 year old girl. I'm lucky enough to have been able to keep in touch with a number of MPSJ grads over the years. Leslie, thanks for all of your time and effort in organizing this event.

I was just looking through the photos from the reunion, smiling and laughing.  It was great to see everyone again, I must say again.  In the photos I recognized people that I had wanted to see but missed that night.  The trip to Italy after the reunion was very fun, seeing cousins I hadn't seen in 25 years.  I'm now back in Grande Prairie, Alberta where we're having a nice fall (meaning it hasn't snowed yet), dealing with my teenagers, back at work and on call.I sure do feel like "semi-retiring"!!!  What do people think would be a good age for retirement?  What would you do when you retire?  Found any nice places to retire to?Hugo

Oh the party was great.  I had such a good time.  Thanks to Leslie for organizing. I know it can be a pain and very stressfull. I organize my family golf tournament and one could go crazy trying to get an advanced commitment out of people.  Then there's all the sujestions for improvements and changes from fence sitters, OH MAN!!        Hope to see you all again soon                                               GILK

The birthday party was great, although a little more intimate than the last one so I heard.  I had not seen some people in 30 years and they didn't change much.  Too bad for those that couldn't make it. Maybe next time.

Just wanted to say that the evening was just superb..... Leslie outdid herself & Jeff has the patience of a saint! Thoroughly enjoyed the evening, the venue, the food but most of all the company. For those of you who couldn't make it you missed out, BIG TIME!!! I look forward to our next get -together, & I understand that the guys( Randy Wilson, Pat Egan & John McCloskey) are taking on the challenge. Let's see what they come up with.... Until then, you all take care.

Hi all! Thanks Leslie for organizing another big event for us. Unfortunately, I cannot attend the 50th birthday bash, but I do want to wish everyone who will be participating in the event a very happy and fun evening. They say 1959 was a good year: Kennedy was on his way to the Presidency; Pope John XXIII announced the convening of the Second Vatican Council; Ben Hur was the top film of the year; the Montreal Canadians won the Stanley Cup and the great majority of our MPSJ 78 grads made a screaming entry into the world! Happy 50th to each and all! Peter

Like Kirk, I occasionally drive past the old MPSJ site. I can still see it as if it was yesterday. I can also remember some of the other "landmarks" no longer with us: Freddy’s, Maria’s and of course the I. Thinking back, it certainly was a special place. I’m looking forward to connecting with the grads I see on a regular basis and the rest of you I have not seen in so many years. Finally, my sincere thanks to Leslie. I can only image how much time you have put into this. See you all in a few days!

Its a blast from the past.  My old grade 2 buddy Marc Hamel calls me up and says heh, lets go to a Power reunion.  Wow, 30 years ago.  I just went to my 25th reunion for university just last summer, just celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary and now this.Looking forward to seeing some old faces. Thanks to all the organizers.

comment by Hugo Bertozzi

Thanks Mark for the kind words.  If anyone needs a stress test before signing up, I\'d be glad to help out here in Grande Prairie.  Today we had minus 38 degrees on the drive to work and dropping the kids off, but it should warm up and you can go for a ski at the nordic centre near our house after your exercise test!  Hey, it\'s a start.  These silly reminiscences of high school come from deep impressions of our youth, and we are all so busy with our families and lives, of course.  But somehow God brought us all together for 5 seminal years, for a purpose in His great Plan, and it doesn\'t have to end in 1978.  This website let\'s us continue those relationships to some extent.I challenge Lou Battista to the 200 metres, and I\'ll give him 25 metres head start.  (Having twisted my possibly arthritic knee 2 weeks ago on the ski course, and freezing my feet last weekend using my son\'s tight knee braces!)Love to All,Hugo
